Talk Update, Holiday Dates & Snippets
Hello!
Just a quick newsletter to say that the clinic will be closed from Monday 21st October for a week. You can still email me or leave a message on the clinic phone and I will get back to you on my return. Hope you all have a good week!
And the tickets for my talk on Diabetes, Syndrome X and Insulin Resistance (basically how your body handles, or doesn’t handle the sugars that you eat) are selling well – half already gone. So if you do want to come along please let me know as soon as possible so I can get you on the list. If you missed the earlier newsletter giving the information it is on Tuesday, 12th November, 7-9pm, Gladstone’s Library, Hawarden. £5 in advance or £10 on the door. I look forward to seeing you there.
Something else you may be interested in at the Library is Christi Bendle’s sewing classes. She is currently doing a general sewing course but there are some one day clases on Applique, a Christmas Stocking and possibly pattern drafting (which is making sure your patterns fit properly as well as making patterns up from scratch!) If you are interested you can email her at christi@christisstitches.com or phone her on 07950 926489.
And finally – exercising to happy music makes you fitter! The study used music without words but I think as long as there are no lyrics that would make you sad/angry that would work too! Particpants with cardiac issues who just listened to happy music (30 mins every day) boosted their heart/exercise function by 19%, those who just exercised increased function by 29% but those who combined exercise with the happy music boosted by 39%. So get those happy vibes out. Another good reason to make a playlist up (tape for those who are old enough to remember!?!) with songs that make you smile and want to dance around the living room.
Hope you all have a lovely evening, Peta :>)
